Congratulations Cannon Moser

Cannon Moser headshotCongratulations to Cannon Moser for winning an additional $3,100 scholarship for his second-place finish in the Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives Children of Members Scholarship competition held on April 12th. Cannon, a senior at Marysville Early College High School, was chosen from URE scholarship recipients to represent the co-op in the statewide competition due to his impressive academic achievements and involvement in his school and community.

Cannon’s accomplishments include being a member of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources sponsored Conservation Teen Advisory Council (conTAC), a volunteer and teacher at his church, and a long-time member of the Union County chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. Cannon also was the URE representative at the 2022 Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.

Cannon has maintained honor roll status in high school and has a current GPA of 4.38. He has participated in cross country, swimming, and track and fi eld for several years and has received numerous athletic honors, including the Archie Gri­n Sportsmanship award, swim team captain, and district qualifier.

Cannon has gained a wide variety of experiences working numerous jobs at Walmart, Landscapes by Terra, Springdale Baptist Church, and Vector Marketing. He plans to attend the University of Toledo and majoring in civil engineering.

The Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives Children of Members Scholarship competition included 24 high school seniors, representing each of the Ohio-based electric distribution cooperatives, competing for $49,000 in scholarships. A panel of independent judges interviewed the finalists. Congratulations once again to Cannon Moser for his impressive achievements and for being recognized for his hard work and dedication.
