The Next Chapter

The Gibson Family: Phillip, Nick, Sue, Bart, and Ross

After 18 years of service to URE, Sue Gibson will retire this month. She joined URE in 2005 as the communications coordinator. In 2013 she earned her Certified Cooperative Communicator credentials and has been the director of communications since 2014.

Anthony Smith, CEO/President, remarked, “Sue has been instrumental in URE’s excellent relationship with our employees, members, and our community. She has always enjoyed learning new skills, which has made her contributions to our team invaluable. We wish her well in her upcoming well-earned retirement, and we will certainly miss her.”

When asked to reflect on her career, Sue commented, “I am grateful for my tenure with URE. Through the years, I’ve appreciated the many changes in technology, in both the utility and communications industries. I’m most proud of the recent ure.com website redesign and watching the continued success of our youth programs. I’m excited for this next chapter of life.”

In her retirement, Sue looks forward to spending more time with her husband Bart and traveling together in their RV. They are both looking forward to attending more events with their 3 sons: Nick, Phillip, and Ross, and visiting with family and friends from across the United States.
