Aquillo Earns Leadership Certificate

Mike Aquillo

This past October, 45 leaders from cooperatives across the country attended the inaugural Executive Leadership Program presented by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. NRECA partnered with the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University – 1 of the country’s most highly ranked business schools – for an immersive program designed to elevate leadership skills.

Mike Aquillo, Union Rural Electric Cooperative (URE) chief experience officer, attended the week-long program. “I’m incredibly grateful to URE for this investment in me. The ELP combined a rigorous curriculum, renowned faculty, and curious cooperative leaders from around the country. I look forward to putting all that I learned into practice to improve my performance, my team’s, and the cooperative’s,” says Aquillo.

The ELP curriculum focused on leading with vision and purpose, developing systems of deliberate practice around employees, leveraging generational differences in the workplace, creating synergies across functions and departments, forming a culture of agile execution, and crafting stakeholder communications.
