Happy Retirement!

After 5 years of dedicated service, Director of Information Technology Steve Lentz will retire from Union Rural Electric Cooperative (URE) in June.

During his time at URE, Lentz led major advancements in cybersecurity, oversaw critical system upgrades, and improved internal communication platforms across the organization.

“Steve brought significant experience and a well-rounded skill set to the IT director position in 2019,” said URE CEO Anthony Smith. “He successfully led URE’s IT environment through the challenges of the pandemic era, continually enhanced and optimized our critical systems, and pushed us to achieve a higher level of efficiency. I’ll truly miss our insightful technical conversations that sometimes veered away from the practical into geekery!”

Lentz looks forward to traveling with his wife, Carol, and enjoying more time on the golf course and pickleball court!
