PEAK ALERT

Peak Alerts are NOT a notice of a power shortage, but a warning that the demand for electricity could set a new peak for our members. Our rates are based on the top 5 peak demand days of the year, so your efforts now can help keep rates stable.
Here’s how you can help:
✔️ Raise your thermostat by 2-5 degrees and use fans to cool your home
✔️ Turn off unnecessary lights and electronics
✔️ Shut blinds and curtains to block out heat from the sun
✔️ Run your dishwasher and do laundry before or after peak hours
✔️ Take showers and baths during off-peak hours
✔️ Charge electric vehicles before or after peak hours

Members who have a radio-controlled switch on their air conditioner or electric water heater may notice that switches are periodically activated for up to 12 minutes to conserve energy during peak alerts.
