Happy Retirement!

Tim Sherwood

After 25 years of dedicated service to Union Rural Electric Cooperative (URE), Tim Sherwood will retire this month.

Tim began his career at URE with Security Plus, where he developed the technical expertise that became the foundation of his success as a meter technician. Over the years, Tim has been a cornerstone of URE’s metering operations, ensuring systems run smoothly, resolving power quality issues, and assisting members with high-bill concerns.

1 of Tim’s most notable contributions was his instrumental role in the 2016 AMI (Automated Metering Infrastructure) upgrade. His expertise and dedication ensured a seamless transition to the modernized system, significantly improving data accuracy and communication reliability. This project laid the groundwork for enhanced service to our members and helped the cooperative stay ahead of the curve.

Reflecting on Tim’s time with URE, COO/VP of Engineering & Honda Affairs Matt Zarnosky shared, “Tim is truly larger than life. His personality and humor are infectious, bringing energy and laughter wherever he goes. Tim’s willingness to go above and beyond for those around him is unmatched, and his dedication to his work shines through in everything he does. He not only excels at what he does but also finds joy in it, which has been an inspiration to all of us.”

CEO/President Anthony Smith added “I’ve truly enjoyed working with Tim over the years — even in less-than-ideal weather. His wisdom, humor, and willingness to help both members and coworkers have made him an invaluable part of URE. His witty sense of humor and dedication to learning new skills have made URE a special place to work. We’ll all miss seeing Tim daily as he transitions into retirement and wish him all the best in this next chapter of his life.”

Tim’s hard work, humor, and kindness have left an unforgettable mark on URE. Please join us in wishing him happiness and success as he enjoys retirement.
