Improved Budget Billing Program

New Recalculation & Catch-Up Dates

URE offers a fixed-budget billing program designed to help members manage their energy costs more effectively. Fixed budget bills are based on an annual average of your kilowatt-hour use, allowing you to pay a consistent amount each month and avoid fluctuating high and low bills. Starting in August, there will be 2 key changes to our fixed-budget billing program:

  1. Recalculation dates: The budget billing amounts will now be recalculated twice a year, in August and February. This semi-annual recalculation will help ensure that your billing amounts more accurately reflect your actual energy usage.
  2. August catch-up: All accounts on budget billing will have a “catch-up” adjustment in August. This means any difference between your actual account balance and your budget billing amounts will be addressed annually in August, helping to keep your actual account balance on track.

1 budget billing program requirement that hasn’t changed: Each month, the budget amount due indicated in the circle at the top of the bill will be due regardless of the actual account balance. Failure to make a payment will result in being removed from the budget billing program and may lead to service disconnection, if applicable.

These updates are designed with you, our members, in mind, offering greater accuracy and predictability in managing your energy costs throughout the year.
